General Jan Dodonna ANH *Cleared 18.06.18*

Post by Phil1880 » Mon May 14, 2018 7:41 pm

I have decieded to start a new project that makes use of my greying beard, and I have started to work on a new Wip for a rebel General. I am working on the crl for Jan Dodonna. I have the beard, but it's not yet grey enough. I have seen products to make my hair and beard more sliver/grey.

Anyway...

1)Khaki tan Jacket with brown shoulder ( yoke) and four pockets in front.
Source- Teesar BDU Khaki, shoulder from brown fabric not yet located.

2) Dark Brown shirt with bib in front, no visible buttons.
Source- Brown/ Mocha poplin work shirt ( bib made form 2nd shirt)

3) Khaki / tan pants with solid dark brown or black stripe on side of each leg
Source-Pentagon covert pants Khaki ( no combat pockets) 2 inch black ribbon sewed down legs.

4) Brown belt 1 ¾ to 2 inc with oval buckle
Source- amazon blank silver oval buckle, leather for belt can be got no problem.

5) Brown flat soled tall boots 14-16 inch shaft) riding boots recommended heels no more than 1 inch. No obvious zippers buckles or laces.
Source- not located yet, possible custom made/ hessenantique ones.

6) Natural/ cream coloured duster with lapels , mid calf to ankle length, slash pockets optional.
Source- custom made by lab coat suppler. screen shots were provided it has been ordered.

7) rank badge 5 red pips.
From seller on Etsy

8) Grey or white hair , beard and moustache.
Used product on hair and own beard to make greyer.

So far I have heard back from the lab coat maker who has agreed to make the duster to my specs and from the reference photos I provided. This is now ordered (thanks to Geoff for hooking me up)

Stuggling to find boots that look good with correct heel size without going custom made.

Lots of reference pictures via main RL forum.

Hey Phil welcome to HOC, You seem to have it all totally in hand.

Boots always seem to be an issue....there is a post on resources in the members area with boot-makers info in. Someone posted these up, I see Jase replied but no judge, you could give the post a nudge or write a new post on the main boards to ask about boots. http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/ ... hp?t=92741

Here's the link to to ANH screen shots.....sometimes I find you can get better angles etc than the stills by looking for the scene in the screen caps.

Thanks for the info, those were the boots I saw, and they are apparently made in Spain, but that company is in the USA, and I would like to try to get some in Europe. Rather than ordering from the USA at-299 dollar with shipping and vat on top is more than I want to pay for boots, although they are made to measure.

One inch heel, plain brown riding boots in mens size off the shelf are not easy to find. Lots have elastic panels or other detailing that is not right.
I'll keep looking.

If they are leather you could always dye them? It is a risk though.

I'll Have a look this weekend and see if I can find anything. What size are you? Otherwise you could ask on the RPF or the IOC I know its mainly black boots over there, but someone might have found something by chance. Have you posted on FB? if you have lots of costumers they might know something.

It would be really good to find a solid euro supplier though.

You got the silver fox look going ;)

I think you could use a bit more as he is quite white/grey, looking good though.

I think I'm going to go for a wig, but use this product on my beard.
I have custom boots on order from Pakistan, should be here in about 4 weeks.
The custom duster/lab coat is being made and should be 2-3 weeks.
I have the BDU shirt and trousers and two shirts to modify for the bib, I'm just in talks with a local seamstress about doing the sewing for me..
I'll update more when I have some progress.

Wowsers, you definitely have the beard for it. What are you aiming for on wigs? Looks like the crazy professor from Back to the Future! Lot's of similar parts to Antilles, great to have more Command Staff costumes!

That's Fab, they look really good! Be sure to put up lots of pics when they come as people are always looking for good boot suppliers. The more we can source parts easily the more people we can tempt to the officers side

...........we need to convert a few more so I can do some merch ;)
